LG is not only unveiling its 2020 Soundbar range at CES. Company has also announced that it will introduce its expanded 8K TV lineup at CES 2020. The lineup includes eight TVs with new 77-inch and 65-inch class models, which will join existing 88-inch and 75-inch screen sizes.
LG 2020 TV lineup includes premium 88-inch and 77-inch class LG SIGNATURE OLED 8K TVs with models 88/77 OLED ZX and advanced LG NanoCell TVs with models 75/65 Nano99, 75/65 Nano97, 75/65 Nano95.
Notably, each model exceeds new 8K Ultra HD definition set by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) which requires atleast 50% CM Threshold. TÜV Rheinland have validated that LG SIGNATURE OLED 8K and LG 8K NanoCell TV exceed this definition.
The LG latest 8K TVs also feature in new α (Alpha) 9 Gen 3 AI Processor which leverages deep learning technology to deliver optimized picture and sound sound quality for all types of content. This is done through AI-based 8K upscaling, which gives out vivid and accurate 8K images by analyzing the content and applying Quad Step Noise Reduction and frequency based Sharpness Enhancer.
The α (Alpha) 9 Gen 3 AI Processor can also recognize faces and text on screen. It fine-tunes and sharpens the picture to produce more natural skin tones and well-defined facial features. It has Auto Genre Selection to recognize type of content being views and applies picture settings accordingly.
The LG 8K TVs deliver Real 8K experience and can play native 8K content via HDMI and USB digital inputs. These TV’s also support codecs such as HEVC, PVP9 and AV1. These 8K TVs from LG also support 8K content streaming at a rapid 60fps and are also certified to provide 8K 60fps over HDMI.
These TVs also have LG AI Sound Pro which analyzes and classifies the audio of the content in five categories – music, movies, drama, news or sports. The background noises are identified and scene up-mixed to virtual 5.1 surround for even immersive audio experience.
Moreover, LG 8K TVs are also smart TVs. Users can monitor and control compatible IoT devices directly from the TV’s Home dashboard. They have Hands-Free Voice Control for easily controlling multiple connected devices using voice. The ThinQ voice recognition in built into every LG 8K TV and is available in 144 countries. These TVs run on webOS and supports Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit. There is support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa and will also get Amazon Alexa Premium Far-Field Voice compatibility in future.
LG’s comprehensive, 8K lineup will be on show during CES 2020 from January 7-10 .
