Meizu 18X, 18S and 18S Pro smartphones announced

Meizu expands its 18 Series lineup with three new smartphones called Meizu 18X, Meizu 18s and Meizu 18s Pro.

Meizu 18X specifications and features

The handset measures 165.1 x 76.35 x 7.99 mm and weighs 189 grams. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor and boots on Android 11 with Flyme 9.2.

It has dual Nano SIM slots with 5G (SA/NSA) and Dual 4G VoLTE support. The mobile packs a 6.67-inch AMOLED HDR10+ display offering 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 500nits (typ) / 700nits (peak) brightness. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection on top.

The Meizu 18X specs include octa-core Snapdragon 870 mobile platform with Adreno 650 GPU. It has 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB / 256GB UFS 3.1 storage options. Its top-end model has 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

For optics, Meizu has placed 13MP front camera with F/2.0 Aperture. At the back side are triple cameras with LED flash. These include 64MP (main, Samsung GW3 sensor, F/1.79, 6P lens, 0.8um pixel size) + 8MP (ultra-wide, Hi846 sensor, F/2.2) + 2MP (depth, F/2.4) cameras.

The 18X feature a 4300mAh (typ) battery capacity and supports 30W Super mCharge fast charging. It supports QC4+ and PD30W charging protocols.

The cellphone comes with Single 1216 linear speaker and supports USB Type-C Audio. It has support for Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.2, USB Type-C, NFC and dual band GPS/GLONASS/Beidou.

Meizu 18s and Meizu 18s Pro specifications and features

The Meizu 18s measures 152.4 x 69.2 x 8.18 mm and weighs 162 grams. It comes with 20MP front camera with F/2.2 Aperture. At the back are triple shooters making up of 64MP (main, Sony IMX682 sensor, F/1.6, 7P lens, Ultra SMA OIS, 0.8um pixels) + 16MP (ultra-wide, Samsung S5K3P9SX sensor, F/2.4) + 8MP (telephoto, Omnivision OV08A10 sensor, F/2.4, 3x Zoom) and ring-LED Flash. It has 4000mAh (typ) battery with 36W Super mCharge fast charging.

The Meizu 18s Pro has dimensions of 162.5 x 73.0 x 8.1 mm and has weight of 189 grams. It has 44MP front camera with F/2.4 Aperture and Samsung GH1 sensor. At the back are quad-cameras and ring-LED Flash. The module houses 50MP (main, Samsung S5KGN1 sensor, F/1.9, 7P Lens, 1.4um pixels) + 32MP (ultra-wide, Songy IMX616 sensor, F/2.2, 2cm macro) + 8MP (telephoto, OmniVision OV08A10 sensor, F/2.4, 3x Zoom) + 0.3MP ToF (Samsung 33D sensor, F/1.4) cameras. It has 4500mAh battery with 40W Super mCharge fast charging, Wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging support.

The 18s and 18s Pro sports 6.2-inch and 6.7-inch screen sizes respectively. These have AMOLED HDR10+ display with 3200 x 1440 pixels resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 420nits (typ) / 1300nits (peak) brightness, 5000000:1 (min) contrast ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection.

Both of these mobile phones are powered by Octa-core Snapdragon 888+ mobile platform with Adreno 660 GPU. These have options of 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB / 256GB UFS 3.1 storage and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB UFS 3.1 storage space.

They run on Android 11 based Flyme 9.2. Both handset offer dual SIM connectivity and houses 3D ultra-sonic fingerprint sensor for biometrics. They include dual (1216 linear + 1012) speaker setup with USB Type-C audio. They support 5G (SA/NSA) / Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz) 2×2 MIMO, USB Type-C, Bluetooth V5.2, NFC and dual Band GPS/GLONASS/Beidou.
