Microsoft has officially announced its latest gaming console dubbed as the Xbox One S. It was announced at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 2016) conference.
Images of this gaming console from Microsoft were already leaked earlier today. It is sleeker with slim profile, about 40% slimmer, yet powerful than its predecessor. It can also be placed on vertical stand according to your liking.
Microsoft has also managed to remove its bulky power supply, largely seen in its Xbox lineup. To add butter, Xbox One S now includes support for 4K Ultra HD video (via 4K Ultra HD Bluray) and brings HDR capabilities for both gaming and video.
The Redmond giant has moved an USB port and controller pairing button on the front and comes with built-in IR blaster. Its Xbox One S controller is also slightly modified, featuring textured grips. It also comes with high range Bluetooth, that can also be used wirelessly on Windows PC.
One notable thing missing out though is the Kinect Sensor port. One can always use separate USB adaptor to use Kinect for voice controls. Microsoft has also planned to offer free adaptors for existing Xbox One users who upgrade.
The Microsoft Xbox One S is priced at US$ 299 for 500GB variant and US$ 349 for the 1TB variant. Microsoft will also launch a special limited edition of Xbox One S with 2TB hard drive in early August 2016 and will cost you US$ 399. The Xbox One Vertical Stand will be available for standalone price of US$ 19.99 while its Wireless Controller will sell for US$ 59.99.
