Motorola unveils new Moto G Play (2023) in US markets

Motorola has finally taken wraps of its new Moto G series smartphone in United States. The device is dubbed as Moto G Play (2023).

The newest member in Moto G Play series measures 167.24 x 76.54 x 9.36 mm and has weight of 203 grams. It has IP52 rated water repellent design and packs a rear facing fingeprint sensor.

The new Moto G Play boasts a 6.5-inch MaxVision LCD display and offers 1600 x 720 pixels HD+ resolution at 20:9 aspect ratio and 90Hz refresh rate.

Powering its heart is an octa-core MediaTek Helio G37 processor with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It has 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space. It has microSD card support allowing further storage expansion up to 512GB.

The Moto G Play 2023 feature a 5MP front camera with F/2.4 Aperture. At the back side is a combo of 16MP main, 2MP depth (f/2.4) and 2MP macro (f/2.4) lenses.

The cell phone runs on Android 12 with MyUX on top. It has a 5000mAh battery and supports 10W charging speeds. It has a bottom ported speaker and includes a 3.5mm audio jack.

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.0, USB Type-C and GPS/GLONASS.

New Moto G Play (2023) price and availability

The smartphone is priced at MSRP $169.99 (Rs. 13,990 approx.) and comes in Deep Indigo colors. The unlocked model of Moto G Play 2023 will be available at Amazon.com, Best Buy and Motorola.com from January 12th, 2023.

The Motorola Moto G Play Gen 2 will also land at carriers like Metro by T-Mobile, Dish, Xfinity Mobile, UScellular, Consumer Cellular, Spectrum Mobile, and Optimum Mobile later. The handset will also sell in Canada at Motorola.ca, select carriers and via several retailers.
