Along with Redmi K20, Xiaomi has also launched Redmi K20 Pro for Indian markets. The handset was first announced in China back in May.
It has Aura Prime 3D curved back design with blue and red flame patterns. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 back for durability and sports P2i splash resistant nano coating.
The smartphone is equipped with 7th generation in-display optical fingerprint sensor for fast unlocking. It has 15% larger finger area and can capture improved optical signals.
The phone has dimensions of 156.7 x 74.3 x 8.8 mm and has weight of 191 grams. It has 4000 mAh (typical) / 3900 mAh (minimum) battery with 27W SoniCharge fast charging (includes 18W charge in box). Company claims that battery charges from 0 to 58% in 30 minutes using 27W charging.
The Redmi K20 Pro specs include 6.39-inch AMOLED HDR display with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The screen offers 103.8% NTSC color gamut, 600nits (HMB) / 430nits (Typical) brightness, DCI-P3 color gamut and features in Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection for scratch resistance. The screen boasts an impressive 91.9% screen-to-body ratio.
The flagship is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 855 mobile platform with Adreno 640 GPU. The K20 Pro comes in options of 6GB (LPDDR4X) RAM with 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage and 8GB (LPDDR4X) RAM with 256GB (UFS 2.1) storage. Both variants excludes a MicroSD card support.
The mobile comes iwth Game Turbo 2.0 and sports 8 layer Graphite 3D sheets for enhanced heat dissipation.
The Redmi K20 Pro features in 48MP (1/2″ Sony IMX586 sensor, F/1.75 Aperture), 0.8um pixels, 6P Lens, EIS, Laser AF) + 8MP (Telephoto, 1/4″ OV8856 sensor, 1.12um pixels, F/2.4 Aperture, 2X loss-less zoom) + 13MP (124.8-degree Ultra Wide 1/3″ Samsugn S5K3L6 sensor, F/2.4 Aperture, 1.12um pixels) triple cameras at the back. The shooters also support 4K video recording at 60fps and slo-mo recording at 960fps.
There is a 20MP front camera with F/2.2 Aperture and 0.8um pixel size. It is place inside pop-up module which company claims, has been tested for 300,00 times. It has auto drop protection and is covered with Sapphire Glass protection.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.0, GPS (L1+L2 dual band)/GLONASS, USB Type-C, NFC and 3.5mm Audio jack. The device also includes Qualcomm Aqstic WCD9340 Hi-Fi Audio chip for enhanced audio.
The Redmi K20 Pro 6GB/128GB price is Rs. 27,999 while the K20 Pro 8GB/256GB variant costs Rs. 30,999. It comes in Carbon Fiber, Glacier Blue and Flame Red colors. You can buy the phone from July 22 at Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Home stores.
Update: Xiaomi has also unveiled Redmi K20 Pro Signature Edition made out of gold and embellished with diamonds. It is priced at Rs. 4,80,000 a piece and only 20 such units will be manufactures. The Letter K at the back will be covered with diamonds. Specifications are same as original K20 Pro but there is no word on its availability yet.
