A new flagship smartphone from SHARP called AQUOS R6 (SH-51B) is finally official in Japan. It comes with an interesting specs sheet.
For starters, Sharp AQUOS R6 feature a 6.6-inch Pro IGZO OLED display offering 2730 x 1260 pixels WUXGA+ resolution. Its screen offers 1Hz to 240Hz dynamic refresh rate for enhanced smoothness and power saving.
The phone has dimensions of 162 x 74 x 9.5 mm and weighs about 207 grams. It has a 5000mAh battery capacity inside with fast charging support. The device also comes with IPX5 / IPX8 / IP6X water resistant rating allowing its use during showers and rain.
The AQUOS R6 specs include octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 mobile platform with Adreno 660 GPU. The smartphone is offered in single 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage variant. Although, it does have MicroSDXC card support up to 1TB.
The phone is powered by Android 11 OS out of the box. It has under display fingerprint sensor and Face Unlock support for biometrics and making secure payments. The fingerprint sensor sports Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max” which is 11 times* larger than the conventional one and the largest size in the world. It has a single NanoUIM SIM card support with 5G and delivers peak 5G speeds of 4.2Gbps / 218Mbps (DL/UL).
The Sharp AQUOS R6 specifications also include a 12.6MP in-camera at the front with F/2.3 Aperture lens. At the back side is a 20MP main Leica camera unit which has a huge 1-inch Sensor (biggest camera sensor in smartphone yet), 7P lens, F/1.9 Aperture and 19mm equivalent focal length. It is accompanied by ToF sensor and single LED Flash. EIS is supported by back camera.
In terms of connectivity, the device sports Wi-Fi 6 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.2, USB Type-C, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo/Qzss and 3.5mm audio jack.
The Sharp AQUOS R6 colour options include White and Black shades. It will go on sale at DoCoMo and SoftBank in June. Pricing will be out when phone nears availability. [source1 – source2]
