SHARP has unveiled its latest Android smartphone in China called AQUOS S2. It has hybrid Dual SIM slots (nano + nano / MicroSD) and supports 4G VoLTE as well.
The mobile measures 141.8 x 72.04 x 7.9 mm and weighs about 140 grams. It is also durable, sporting metal frame and 3D glass back.
A fingerprint sensor is placed just under the screen. Moreover, this fingerprint identification module is also claimed to be world’s narrowest.
What makes SHARP AQUOS S2 unique is its bezel-less display. It has 5.5-Inch LCD display with 2040 x 1080 pixels Full HD+ resolution. It has 135% SRGB color, 550nits brightness, 84.95% screen-to body ratio and supports multi-touch. There is a 2.5D corning Gorilla Glass protection as well.
SHARP has used FFD (Free Form Display) technology to make small holes for front camera and receiver. Inside is a 2930 mAh (minimum) / 3020 mAh (typical) battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
It’s premium variant is powered by an octa-core (2.2GHz Kryo 260 x 4 + 1.8GHz Kryo 260 x 4) Snapdragon 660 14nm Mobile platform SoC with Adreno 512 GPU. It has 6GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB internal memory and allows further expansion up to 128GB as well.
The SHARP AQUOS S2 specs include 8MP front camera with F/2.0 Aperture and 1.4µm pixel size. There are dual rear cameras with dual-tone LED Flash. It consists of 12MP primary shooter with F/1.75 Aperture, 1.4µm pixel size and supports PDAF. The second rear shooter is of 8MP.
The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box. It supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.20, GPS/GLONASS, USB Type-C etc.
The cell phone will be available for pre-order at jd.com from today. Sales will commence in China from August 14, 2017. It comes in White, Black, Blue and Green colors.
