Sony Mobile has announced its new ‘R Series’ smartphone in India called Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus. Both of them have same specifications, apart from RAM.
Both of these mobiles have dual SIM slots. They runs on Android 7.1 Nougat OS and are upgradable to Android 8.0 Oreo as well. They measure 146 x 73.2 x 8.89 mm and weighs 154 grams.
The Sony Xperia R1 / R1 Plus specs include 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, 282ppi pixel density and 69.7% screen-to-body ratio. They have 2.5D glass and supports multi-touch as well.
Both cell phones are powered by an octa-core (1.5GHz A53 x 4 + 1.2GHz A53 x 4) Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 mobile platform with Adreno 505 GPU. They have an 8MP front facing camera with Predictive Hybrid AF coupled with 13MP snapper at the back with LED flash. It has Exmor Sensor and supports Predictive hybrid Auto Focus as well.
The Xperia R1 features in 2GB RAM with 16GB UFS storage. The Xperia R1 Plus packs in 3GB RAM with 32GB internal memory. Both allow further expansion up to 128GB using MicroSD card.
Their hardware is powered by 2620 mAh battery capacity. Connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth V4.2, GPS/GLONASS, USB Type-C, FM Radio and 3.5mm Audio jack is supported as well.
The Sony Xperia R1 costs Rs. 12,990 (US$ 215) while Xperia R1 Plus price is set at Rs. 15,990 (US$ 245). They come in Black and Silver colors and will go on sale in India from November 10th.
