Update: The Mi AirDots Air 2 have been globally launched as Mi True Wireless Earphones 2. It comes in White color and is priced at Euro 79.99 (US$ 88 / Rs. 6,620 approx.). The earbuds will go on sale in Europe soon.
Xiaomi at its event has also introduced Mi AirDots Air 2, company’s latest Truly Wireless earbuds.
It has semi-in-ear design and fits easily into ear canals. Each headset is lightweight at just 4.5 grams. There is an IR sensor for intelligent wear detection (automatically pauses when earphone buds are removed).
The Mi AirDots Air 2 comes with charging case which weighs about 50 grams. The standalone battery inside ear buds offer about 4 hours of playback,. With its carry / charging case you get 14 hours. The case can be charged using USB Type-C and takes just about an hour to reach 100%.
The wireless headset Air 2 uses Bluetooth V5.0 to connect with most Android and iOS devices. It supports LDHC/SBC/AAC codes. There are touch controls on buds to control volume or change tracks.
There are dual microphones as well to take calls and offer noise cancellation. It does come with 14.2mm drivers and Impedance of 32Ohms.
The Xiaomi Mi AirDots Air 2 price is 399 Yuan (US$ 56 / Rs. 3980 approx.) and comes in White color. It will go on sale in China from September 27th.
UPDATE 8/5/20: The Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 have been launched in India for Rs. 4999 ($60/€55). They will go on sale as early at May 12th at Amazon and Mi.com. Those who order them before May 17th can get it for $3999 ($52/€48).
